All three energy systems run from the first grip. The opening scramble is paid for in stored ATP, the middle of the round in glucose, and the whole six minutes sits on top of your aerobic engine — still working at the buzzer.
Every action you take changes the problem. Your partner responds, new information appears, and you solve it again — continuously, for six minutes.

Roger Gracie is one of the greatest Jiu Jitsu competitors to ever step on a mat — a 10x Black Belt World Champion, multiple-time MMA champion, and IBJJF Hall of Fame member.
